Passport Ofiice in Mumbai, Location of Passport office Mumbai, Passport Office Web Site

Mumbai, the commercial center of India has attracted throngs to its job market from all over India. The city has also facilitated a huge number of people migrating to locations across the globe. The main Passport Office located at Worli in Manish Commercial Center.

It has an Annexe Passport Office also, located opposite to Century Bazaar at Veer Sawarkar Marg, Prabadevi, Mumbai. These two offices are responsible for the West region comprising Greater Mumbai, Aurangabad, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Beed in Mah State and the Union Territory of Daman and Diu. The passport processing has been streamlined and highly regulated. The bureaucratic delays and corrupt practices are now almost non-existent. One can get immediate or Tatkal passports too but generally for government officials.

The two halls of the Passport Office have specific functions. The fresh applications are accepted at Hall No.1. It also deals with duplicate or re-issuing of passports. The Hall No.2 deals with short duration passports, emigration check related certificates and police clearances. The office timings are from 10AM to 12:30PM, which is the primary reason for people queuing up at dawn for the passport issues. The common Indian today is fast becoming a global man and the government must wake up to this reality. It would be prudent to allow passport services for a longer duration rather than the measly two and half hours a day.
