Established in 1955, the College has a long-standing record of service to the community at large. Through its various field projects with marginalized groups and crisis interventions the College has been contributing significantly to the social development of the country. Thus the College not only focuses on academic excellence, but also strives to relate the educational content of the courses to contemporary social reality such that the requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes and values are inculcated in students and they develop a keen sense of social responsibility and commitment to nation building.On 31st March 2007, The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), was pleased to declare that the College of Social Work had been re-accredited at the A + level with an Institutional Score of 93%.This certification would be valid for FIVE years.
